Free State up 47-0 on Shawnee Mission North.
It’s been all Free State in the first half. The Firebirds scored twice in the first three minutes: first on a 3yd fumble return from senior linebacker Keith Loneker and then an 8yd pass from Joe Dineen to Blake Winslow.
A second snap went over North’s punter’s head and Stan Skwarlo ran it in from 4 yards out to go up 21-0.
Dineen, a KU safety commit, hit Loneker down the seam for 27yd touchdown to push to lead to 28-0.
Carson Bowen, Skwarlo and Dineen each added touchdown runs to make the score 47-0 at the break.
Free State’s defense was the story of the first half forcing five turnovers. The North offense failed to cross midfield.
